CFO - Western Canada
The company was founded in Saskatchewan in 1949 as a not-for-profit company following the merger of a co-operative medical insurance plan with a physician-sponsored health insurance plan. Following the introduction of publicly funded healthcare ('Medicare') in Saskatchewan in the early 1950's, the company reinvented itself as a provider of supplemental health insurance, bridging the gap between publically funded healthcare services and the needs of its customers. The company's service offering has expanded significantly to include dental, travel, vision care and other products, for groups as well as individual policyholders. It is headquartered in Regina and employs about 100 individuals. It is licensed in BC, Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario, Nova Scotia, PEI and Newfoundland (in addition to Saskatchewan), with plans to expand into Quebec and New Brunswick. The company has launched a search for a new Vice President & Chief Financial Officer, who will report directly to the CEO, and be accountable for a 15 person department. As a key member of the Executive Management team, the Vice President & Chief Financial Officer is responsible for the administrative, financial, and risk management operations of the company. The VP & CFO will have primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all finance-related activities of the company. This includes direct responsibility for accounting, finance, underwriting, business intelligence, strategic planning, and the ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve company assets and report accurate financial results. We require broad and deep finance skills, ideally encompassing audit, financial reporting/controls and/or treasury, gained in a senior corporate role and/or accounting firm. Financial service industry experience is preferred, but is not a pre-requisite. The CFO must be strategic, analytical, have a good business mind and be a natural leader. CA/CMA required. Controller

Located in downtown Toronto, this not-for-profit association employs approximately 110 individuals, with 70 at the head office and the balance in offices across the country. Based at the national head office, the Controller reports directly to the Senior Director of Finance, who in turn is accountable to the President & CEO. The Controller is responsible for a seven-person team (senior accountants, intermediate accountants, A/P and A/R co-ordinators). The team is loyal and engaged and deep into the CMA or CGA programs (with a couple close to receiving designations). This Controller will work closely with the Senior Director, Finance and will be responsible for complex accounting activities related to planning, budgeting, maintenance of complete and accurate general ledgers, as well as Executive Committee and management reports and financial statements. He/she is responsible for maintaining the accounting functions and accounting systems and for providing systems/accounting support to offices located across Canada. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years' practical business experience; he/she will have had accounting, financial analysis/reporting/controls and ideally, audit, experience. Preferably, this experience would have been garnered in a not-for-profit business environment (industry or professional association, accreditation-granting organization, charity, university/college, the healthcare space, etc.), or a smaller to medium-sized service-based business. Medical Director, Europe
Our client is directing a broad clinical trial program with the objective of developing their product as a human cancer therapeutic. With 12 ongoing Phase 1-11 clinical trials and 1 pivotal Phase III trail now underway, the company has a strong sense of identity, focus and optimism around succeeding. Reporting to the Chief Medical Officer, this position is responsible for providing medical guidance, overseeing patient safety and pharmacovigilance, regulatory affairs and clinical development oversight of all ongoing and future European clinical studies (currently with 70 sites throughout 10 European countries). CHIEF MARKETING OFFICER (CMO)

A board certified MD and oncologist, the ideal candidate will also have demonstrated expertise in managing complex collaborations and teams in support of executing clinical trials, have a high level of awareness of the requirements of the FDA, EMEA and other regulatory bodies and be able to thrive in a lean corporate structure.
