Since our inception in 1990, Carmichael Birrell Loberto has maintained a generalist search practice, which we believe has best served our clients’ varied recruitment needs.

We broadly serve our clients’ needs, conducting searches for the most influential ‘C-level’ thought leaders and Board directors, for capable, ambitious and highly promotable line/unit managers, and for everything in between. As a result, we tend to work with firms selectively, but deeply. We have few blockages that impede our access to the best talent. We never want to become bloated or organizationally cumbersome … our model truly is lean and nimble. As such, we respond to our clients’ needs with agility and flexibility, enhancing our ability to successfully conclude mandates in a timely manner.

This approach has resulted in our ability to establish key, long-term relationships with select organizations in numerous sectors. We have become familiar with the operating dynamics, competitive landscape and leadership challenges in many industries. The ability to work knowledgably and confidently within many industries means we have less restricted access to candidates within a given talent pool. By contrast, industry specialists and large international search firms will have off-limit restrictions that handcuff their ability to ethically approach many candidates, compromising their ability to execute on a project.
